Creating the Talisman series a little earlier this year was a bit of a step in the dark as it was hard to identify how well they would sell. There was no need to worry as they have proved extremely popular. Phonic books will be expanding their offering to this age group in the near future.
In the reading reform forum a number of the posters welcome the Talisman books which serve a group who are often not catered for in reading schemes (8-14 year olds who have got behind with reading)..
The forum goes on to have a bit of a debate about the way the Talisman series break up multi-syllable words which I thought might interest some of you.
