Phonic Books is shortlisted for its work to help those who struggle with their reading, especially older girls through a new Alba Series of books. Judges liked its accessible and engaging publishing, supported by astute marketing and distribution, and saw evidence of widespread positive impacts on pupils with Special Educational Needs. “It has a very good understanding of the people it is trying to help and bags of energy to do so,” judges said.
